Strengthening Foster Families in Horry County
Our Mission
Our mission is to support, encourage, equip, and advocate for foster and adoptive families while working together to ensure every child in foster care has the opportunity to feel safe, loved, valued, and connected.
Support and Encouragement
Bringing foster and adoptive families together to share experiences, encourage one another, and provide support through every step of the journey.
Training & Resources
Providing valuable resources and educational opportunities to empower foster parents with the knowledge and tools they need. We meet the second Tuesday of each month at Ekklesia Christian Church for training and support.
Recruitment
Our ultimate goal is to meet the needs of children in foster care by helping ensure they have safe, loving, and stable environments. One of the most important ways we can do that is by recruiting more caring families to open their hearts and homes.
We share our stories and experiences to help others understand the incredible impact a foster or adoptive family can make.
If you’ve ever considered becoming a foster or adoptive parent, we would love to walk alongside you, answer your questions, and help you take the first step on your journey.
You don’t have to know all the answers—you just have to be willing to take the first step.
Who Can Foster and/ or Adopt?
Foster and adoptive parents come from all kinds of backgrounds. You don’t have to be perfect or have all the answers—you simply need to have a safe, stable, and loving home and a heart willing to make a difference in a child’s life.
Whether you are single or married, own or rent your home, have children of your own or are just beginning your family, you may be able to foster or adopt. Requirements vary, but families generally must meet age, background-check, financial, health, and home-safety requirements.
If you’ve ever wondered, “Could I do this?”—we would love to talk with you. We can help answer your questions, explain the process, and connect you with the resources you need to take the first step.ext.
